Who would be interested in enrolling for the CWC?
The Christian Workers’ Course is aimed at people who
- want to be equipped for a full-time ministry
- want to become agents of change and leaders in their communities
- serve in a full-time ministry already but who would like to be better equipped for their task
- do not have a Matriculation Certificate, but who would like to improve their quality of life
- hold permanent positions and do not have time to study as a full-time student.
What is the CWC?
The Christian Workers’ Course (CWC) is a one-year certificate aimed at empowering community and spiritual leaders. This Certificate has been graded at an NQF level 4, with no Matriculation Exemption required.
The CWC Certificate may be completed in one year, but could also be extended across a two-year period. The CWC consists of 10 modules, namely:
- Church Administration and Leadership
- Revelation, Salvation, Basic Doctrines and Ethics
- Entrepreneurship
- Child and Family Care
- Know the Bible − Old Testament
- Know the Bible − New Testament
- Ministry Skills: Preaching, Liturgy and Pastoral Care
- Discipleship and Spiritual Growth
- Mission and Evangelism
- Community Development
Students will attend orientation classes for each module at our learning centres in Johannesburg, Durban and Umtata. (New learning centres will be opening soon. Please contact the ATS to locate a learning centre closest to you.)
On completing the CWC, the Auckland Park Theological Seminary (ATS) will award students a certificate that has been accredited by the SA Department of Education.
Pricing model
The pricing model followed for the CWC is that of pay-as-you-go, in terms of which students pay for each module.
Registration fees for 2010
Registration fee: R300 per annum
Module fee: R450 per module
Benefits to be derived from obtaining the CWC Certificate
- Successful candidates stand to obtain an accredited academic qualification from the ATS.
- The programme is aimed at helping students to roll out community-orientated projects.
- On successful completion of the CWC, students become entitled to pursue tertiary studies, even if they lacked a Matriculation Certificate.
- On successful completion of the CWC, students become entitled to enrol for an internship year with the ATS, following which the successful candidates will be ordained as evangelists.
- Successful CWC Certificate candidates join the ranks of the ATS alumni and are featured on their Web-based database and on the social network of evangelists and pastors.
