- This study programme can be completed in 12 or 18 months. It consists of 5 examination papers.
- An accredited bachelors degree in Theology, with Greek and Hebrew at the first-year level, is required.
- Learners will have a choice of three papers from a selection of papers offered by the ATS.
- At UJ, the learner will have a choice of two papers from a selection of seven papers offered by the Biblical Studies Department.

- Practical Theology:
Pastoral care: Pastoral counselling, cross-cultural and group counselling, mental health care. Church management
and Church leadership.
- Missiology:
Missionary communication. Urban missionary work
- Paper 2 (Second Semester)
- New Testament:
Pentecostal hermeneutics. Exegesis. Biblical content in counselling.
- Old Testament:
Theology. Exegesis
- Paper 3 (Second Semester)
- Dogmatics:
The doctrine of the Holy Spirit. The ministries in the church. Sanctification. The doctrine of the end time.
- Church History:
Methodology of Historiography. An assignment on a theme of the
candidates own choice. Pentecostalists, Neo-Pentecostalists,
independent black churches in Southern Africa, African Theology.
- Paper 4 (First Semester)
- Practical Theology:
The unique nature of Christian counselling.
- Paper 5 (Second Semester)
- Practical Theology:
The church as charismatic body, church management, church growth.
- Paper 6 (First Semester)
- Dogmatics:
Dogmatic and Ethical themes
- Paper 7 (First Semester)
- Practical Theology:
Liturgical themes and ministries of the Church

- Practical Theology:
Marriage and Family counselling
