    Study at ATS

Rules for application

Each learner will receive printed lectures for certain courses. Some of the study programmes will have prescribed books, which the learners must buy for themselves. Learners may contact ATS and enquire about available books for sale.

BTh degree is a study-programme that is available on intramural and extramural education. Intramural implicates that students attend classes at ATS on a full-time basis each day. All our studies are available on extramural education. The registration and orientation classes are compulsory for all students. Contact the Registrar of ATS for more information.

Cancellation of studies

Learners can cancel their studies by written notice to this effect. Studies that are cancelled within 14 days after registration are fully refundable. Studies that are cancelled after 14 days, but within 60 days after registration, are 50% refundable. In this case a learner will only be liable for 50% of the tuition fees.

All correspondence should be addressed to the Registrar Administration, ATS, Private bag X 75, Auckland Park, 2006.

Code of conduct

The Biblical values and principles are applicable under all circumstances. This is a Pentecostal institute that bases its education on the Bible as the Word of God.
Values like honesty, integrity, speaking the truth in a spirit of love, respect, dedication, mercy, love, faith, hope and servant hood are part of the expectation that ATS has of lecturers, staff members and students.

Learner financial aid and support services

Learners can apply for financial aid from their local churches that recommended them for the studies. Banks can assist with study loans.

Learners receive support with their studies during a week of orientation prior to the commencement of studies. Lecturers are appointed to be mentors for learners of each year. Dr Leonard Mare is the mentor for 1st year learners, Past Chris de Wet for the second year’s and Dr FP Möller for the 3rd and 4th year’s. Learners can contact these mentors for any matter relating to their personal lives. Specific support relating to the study course should be taken up with the respective lecturer whose name appears on the study guide.

“Without a doubt I am becoming a better preacher. At times I wonder what kind of preacher I used to be before my training because now I understand the Bible better and I have learnt to be Christ centred when preaching. ATS has also helped me to understand how to be relevant to people’s needs.”
Patrice Paddy Walakira, Ugandan student 2009
